On April 19, Buffalo Grove administrators approved a salary agreement with the village firefighters for the period May 1 to April 30 of next year.

In accordance with the terms set out in the collective agreement, dated May 1, 2020 to April 30, 2023, between the village and the Buffalo Grove Professional Firefighter / Paramedic Association, the two parties met and came to an agreement on a covering letter. .

As part of the deal, firefighters will receive a 2.53% raise over the next year, while lieutenants will earn a 2.52% raise during that same period.

Both parties agree that all terms of the agreement from May 1, 2020 to April 30, 2023 will remain open and will be extended until October 31, 2021. However, salaries from May 1, 2021 to April 30, 2022 for employees covered by this agreement are considered settled by this cover letter and cannot be reopened at a later date.

The salary increases for the following year have a budgetary impact of approximately $ 114,027.14. With this increase, firefighters will earn an annual salary ranging from $ 68,144.96 to $ 111,096.96. Fire lieutenants will be paid a salary of $ 116,777.44 to $ 129,671.36. Fire lieutenants who are not paramedics will earn between $ 114,470.22 and $ 127,110.88.

“I would like to thank the Association of Firefighters / Paramedics for their willingness to work with the village and this is just another example of the excellent relationship we have with the association,” said Joanne Johnson, village administrator.
