CAN YOU BE AN ADMINISTRATOR FOR AGE UK ISLE OF WIGHT? – Echo of the Island

Local charity Age UK Isle of Wight has announced that following the retirement of a number of trustees, they are recruiting several new trustees to help shape their strategic direction and priorities.
Age UK Isle of Wight is looking for people who share their desire to improve the lives of older people and who are looking for a new challenge, to strengthen their current board.
The independent charity has been supporting older Islanders since 1973 and is held in high regard by the communities it serves, as well as local health and social care decision makers.

Directors play a central role in the governance, leadership and long-term planning of the charity. They therefore encourage people with specific skills and attributes, from a wide variety of backgrounds, to apply, as indicated in their application package.
Sheila Evans, Chair of Age UK Isle of Wight Trustees, said:
“Becoming a Trustee and helping to support our older Island community to ensure they can live their best independent lives is time well invested and personally rewarding. We are individuals working as a team drawing on our combined experience and skills, and our ability to make thoughtful and challenging decisions can generate positive results for the welfare of the charity.
Age UK Isle of Wight would like to encourage applications from all areas of the community, no professional qualifications are required. An application package with full details can be found on the charity’s website at www.ageukiw.org.uk.
A chair position will be vacant in November.
