Governor Appoints Three Trustees at Northwest Indiana State University | national news

Governor Eric Holcomb has selected three residents of Northwest Indiana to serve on the boards of three public universities in Indiana.
The Republican chief executive recently reappointed Cynthia Powers of Valparaiso as administrator of Indiana State University, representing Sycamore alumni for a term until June 30, 2025.
Powers graduated from ISU with a BA and MA and ran Gary-based Century 21 Powers Realty for many years. She was first appointed ISU Trustee by Holcomb in 2017.
Stewart McMillan, from Valparaiso, has been a member of the Ivy Tech Community College board since July 2018.

McMillan, the former CEO of Task Force Tips, Inc. and head of the MAAC Foundation Fire and Police Training Center in Valparaiso, will continue to represent Northwest Indiana at the bi-monthly meetings. the board of directors of the state community college, which has classrooms and facilities across the region, until June 30, 2024.
Finally, the governor chose Liam Collins, of Lowell, to serve as a student administrator for the University of Southern Indiana until Collins graduates in 2023.
He is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and currently holds a GPA of 4.0. His activities include the math coach for Academic Super Bowl attendees, the Sigma Pi fraternity, Special Olympics, and campus ministry.
Collins said his goals as a student administrator are to ensure that “every student feels their opinions are heard, valued and respected” as the Evansville-based university returns to “a pre-COVID-19 environment more recognizable “.
