Trustee Mickelsen tenders resignation from IEC board after election

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) – The College of Eastern Idaho (CEI) Board of Trustees announced the resignation of Trustee Stephanie Mickelsen at their regular meeting on Tuesday. Trustee Mickelsen tendered her resignation following her victory in the Legislative District 32 primary election. The resignation is effective June 28, 2022, the date of the next meeting of the IEC Board of Directors.

President Park Price noted that Trustee Mickelsen has served the College faithfully throughout her five years as Trustee. His dedication to CEI’s mission and his active participation on the Board of Directors have been invaluable. His perspective on the employment needs of a large integrated farm operation has been invaluable as CEI seeks to meet the needs of employers throughout its service area. Trustee Mickelsen said she was “so grateful and humbled that I had this opportunity to be a trustee and I just want to say thank you.”

According to Idaho law, the board must fill the vacancy following Mickelsen’s resignation. President Price announced that the Board of Directors will be inviting applications to fill the vacant position beginning Wednesday, May 25, 2022 and ending at the close of business on Monday, June 6, 2022. Applicants must live in Zone 1 to apply at office. Applicants should submit a resume and cover letter to Amanda Logan, Executive Liaison to CEI Board of Directors, 1600 S. 25and East, or [email protected] Applications will be reviewed and the best candidates will be interviewed the week of June 13. The selection of the new director by the board will be made at its regular meeting on June 28, 2022. The newly appointed director will serve until the next election of directors, i.e. in November 2022.
