Mid Michigan College recently honored two longtime trustees for their years of service after retirement and welcomed two new members to the board.

Betty Mussell served on Mid’s board of trustees for 35 years and Carolyn Bay was a college trustee for 20 years. Both are from the Clare area.

Mussell and Bay were honored at a campus meeting in June and received accolades from Speaker of the House of Representatives Jason Wentworth and State Senator Rick Outman.

“Carolyn and Betty will be sadly missed for their generosity, experience and working knowledge of Mid,” said Tim Hood, president of Mid Michigan College. “We wish them both the best in pursuing their many other interests and spending time with family and friends.”

The College welcomed two new directors to fill the seats in Mussell and Bay:

Mike Jankoviak has held a variety of positions at Mid Michigan College over a 25-year career including Automotive Lab Technician, Assistant Instructor, Director of Library and Media Services, Dean of Liberal Arts, Vice President of Academic Services and vice-president of institutional services. Research.

Since 1994, Jankoviak has lived in Gladwin but is originally from Cheboygan. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Northern Michigan University, as well as a Masters of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy degree from Michigan State University.

Jane Zdrojewski is an active community member who has volunteered for various organizations over the years, including the Beaverton Sports Boosters, the Beaverton Youth Recreational Program, the Backpack for Kids Project, the New Dawn Shelter and the leadership programs of the County Clare and County Gladwin.

Most recently, she ran the Dow County / United Way Gladwin Flood Relief Distribution Center. She is currently a member of the Executive Committee and past Chair of the Board of Directors of the United Way of Clare and Gladwin Counties. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Northwood University and works at Dow as Director of Integrated Supply Chain.

“We are grateful to Mike and Jane for generously sharing their time and expertise with the College,” Hood said. “I am confident that the next decade will see tremendous innovation and growth for Mid through exceptional leadership from the Board of Directors. “

Mid Michigan College is governed by a Board of Trustees elected by citizens who reside in the public school districts of Beaverton, Clare, Farwell, Gladwin, Harrison and Mt. Nice. The Board of Directors acts on behalf of the entire community and serves as a vital link between the Order and members of the community.
